Oxfam in Syria is looking for a STAFF SAFETY ASSISTANT to provide support to ensure that safety/security management plan and Sops are developed, implemented, monitored, and reviewed so as to get robust staff security management in consistence with Oxfam policies, standards, and requirements.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:
Experience, Knowledge & Competencies
Essential
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 1 year of relevant safety and security experience in humanitarian sector.
• (preferred) Previous work experience in emergency response.
• Previous experience in humanitarian work in a similar context.
• Strong knowledge of the roadways throughout the immediate area
• Good competency in Microsoft Office applications
• Good competency in using mapping application.
• Team-working skills.
• Flexibility under pressure and in response to changing needs.
• Ability to work with others to develop vision into strategy and communicate and influence this to a wider audience.
• Ability to create the environment to enable others to achieve their objectives and to be able to develop their skills and abilities.
Desirable
• Knowledge of Syria context in terms of its political, economic and social trends plus a good understanding of safety and security measures/protocols.
• Attention to detail and excellent numeracy.
• Good communication skills
