The Role:

The Senior Programme Officer (SPO) will be part of the PMU team, committed to the holistic development of Bangladesh. The SPO will lead and manage projects focused on building networks and alliances to expand civic space, promote locally led indigenous adaptation in agriculture, and support the rights of grower communities to build resilience against climate change. Key responsibilities include overseeing project operations and finances, ensuring compliance, coordinating with teams and partners, managing budgets, reporting, and organizing events. The SPO will also support safe programming, encourage community participation in decision-making, and promote a partnership-based, feminist approach with awareness of power dynamics.

What we are looking for:

We’re looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam's mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to our feminist principles and values of empowerment, accountability, and inclusion in all you do.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be/have:

• A postgraduate degree in climate change, engineering, social science, business, administration, disaster science/management, environmental science/management, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in project cycle management with a strong understanding of all project phases.
• Solid understanding of climate justice and gender justice issues.
• Experience managing projects related to locally led adaptation practices and the rights of grower communities is a strong asset.
• Good understanding of climate finance, building networks, civic space creation, and engaging women, youth, and CSOs in changing climatic and geopolitical contexts.
• Familiarity with community development processes and participatory approaches.
• Experience working in partnership with local organizations such as CSOs and women’s rights groups.
