The Role:

 

Oxfam GB is looking for an experienced and dynamic Retail Learning & Development Partner to lead the design and delivery of a progressive learning strategy that empowers colleagues across Great Britain. This pivotal role supports business performance, operational excellence, and future growth through impactful, inclusive learning. 

 

You’ll collaborate with colleagues across a range of roles and skillsets, building strong relationships to shape learning that’s relevant, engaging and inspiring. You will also have exciting in-person opportunities across Great Britain, and especially within the North operational patch (e.g. meetings and events across Scotland, Wales, Northern and Central England, and at our Oxford Office).

 

More than just delivering training, you’ll influence and drive a learning strategy that supports our retail teams in shops, superstores, warehouses and retail support, helping them thrive in a fast-paced, purpose-led environment. You will be part of the People & Culture division, reporting to the Head of Learning, Talent and Engagement, working closely with the wider LT&E Team. As an L&D professional, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our people have the skills, behaviours and values needed to deliver excellent operational outcomes and a positive employee experience.

You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across our Retail and People & Culture, bringing a strong background in consulting, learning design and delivery tailored to retail audiences. 

 

What we are looking for:

 

We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about developing people and driving meaningful change. You’ll bring a strong background in designing and delivering engaging learning experiences for retail, and/or similar hospitality, audiences, with the confidence to lead and influence across a multi-site environment.  

 

An ideal candidate for the role will bring:

 

  • Proven experience of successfully designing, delivering, and facilitating effective Learning, Talent and Career initiatives across a UK wide multi-site, retail or similar fast paced commercial hospitality network and audiences (Managing face to face, online and blended learning solutions)
  • Bringing knowledge and experience of both technical and behavioural learning design, including across leadership, management, individual and team development. 
  • Track-record of implementing learning methodologies, frameworks, and tools to ensure quality outcomes and consistent standards are upheld. Including product design and evaluation. 
  • Strong senior stakeholder management skills and experience – Well developed relationship building skills, with evidence of understanding and influencing multiple key stakeholders. 
  • Excellent consulting and critical analysis skills, with ability to use data to inform decisions and drive improvements, including assessing learning impact and return on investment. 
  • Excellent ability to communicate, clearly and with impact (written and verbal, including presenting face-to-face and remotely). 
  • Skilled and agile learning facilitator, experienced in working with stakeholders across an organisation. 
  • Strong coaching skills in enabling managers and colleagues across a geographic network. 
  • Proven experience of managing complex projects and programmes. Includes the ability to plan, manage priorities, and be agile and adaptable, whilst demonstrating resilience and positive wellbeing. 
  • Ability to demonstrate up to date knowledge of latest learning trends, effective L&D strategies and how people learn. Takes a growth mindset, with the ability to embrace and drive change. 
  • Demonstrates a strong commercial acumen. 
  • Demonstrates a clear commitment to our values and feminist principles. 
  • Be willing to travel regularly for business purposes. It is desirable that the post holder has a valid UK driving licence (company car and / or expenses provided for travel).
