Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty.
Do you enjoy publishing processes and want the chance to work in a team shaping publications with global impact?
The Communications for Impact (Publishing) Team supports the development of Oxfam’s long-form content for advocacy, campaigning, research, learning and knowledge exchange. Oxfam publications are shared widely with policy-makers, researchers and practitioners across the world through Oxfam Policy & Practice and other sites.
The Publishing Production Assistant’s role is to provide support on the production aspects of publications, reports and white papers developed by teams around the world. The role will involve working with Editorial Project Managers, authors, freelance editors and designers, and with translations, operations support and finance staff. The role requires close attention to detail, multiple deadlines, and good digital publishing skills.
Key Responsibilities:
This role will give you an opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team who make a difference to the way Oxfam communicates with professional and practitioner audiences, influencing sector debates and practices. It also offers the opportunity to work with a group of skilled and diverse people from around the world who are passionate about what they do.
We would welcome applications from people from a wide range of backgrounds, including those with lived experience of the issues we work on and those from under-represented or disadvantaged groups.
Disability Confident Employer Commitment: Oxfam is a disability confident employer, which means that we strive to recruit people and retain them in ways that are flexible to the requirements they may have as a result of disability.
We believe flexible working is key to building the Oxfam of the future, so we’re open to talking through the type of flexible arrangements which might work for you. We think this role would work well as a full-time job connected with our Oxford, UK office or our Nairobi, Kenya office (with flexibility to work from home within our hybrid working arrangements).
How to apply:
As part of your online application, please provide a response to this question related to your experience:
"What experience would you bring for this role that aligns with the essential and desirable characteristics that we are seeking?"
This question is asked in our application form, which you can access by following the "apply for this role" link on the right.
Please note we are not asking candidates to submit a cover letter or CV for this role.
