The Role:

Oxfam has been working in South Sudan since 1983. Our Programmatic Strategy concentrates on saving lives, Resilient Livelihoods, Advancing Gender Justice and Good Governance and Active Citizenship through a full spectrum platform that includes humanitarian response, recovery and resilience, long term development and policy and advocacy. Oxfam currently operates via seven area field offices in South Sudan. (It also works in partnership with several national organisations and community groups.

Oxfam {affiliate/} is looking for:

Project Finance Coordinator to be based in Oxfam South Sudan  Rumbek  Office .

 

 

What we are looking for:

KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Manage and supervise financial resources within defined limits, including staff oversight and administration of petty cash related to FCDO grants.
  • Provide technical and operational support to the Finance Officer (FO) across all finance unit activities.
  • Support the implementation of operational finance plans in line with agreed standards and organizational policies.
  • Contribute to solving complex financial and operational challenges while efficiently handling routine finance-related issues.
  • Utilize and interpret operational and financial information from internal sources to support decision-making and reporting.
  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve challenges within the finance function with flexibility and initiative.
  • Contribute to finance planning processes and influence operational decision-making within the department.
  • Manage field-level contracts and ensure timely and accurate preparation of donor financial reports.
  • Deliver training and ongoing guidance to staff on FCDO financial requirements and compliance standards.
  • Lead all financial aspects of the EFASS project, providing day-to-day financial guidance to programme teams.
  • Ensure strong compliance with donor and organizational requirements, including leading budget monitoring, reviews, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and propose budget revisions as required and proactively highlight financial risks, ensuring timely mitigation measures.
  • Forecasting and over all monitoring
  • Preparation of budget monitoring updates and lead of the review process
  • And in addition, assignment assigned by supervisor.

We offer:

 

  • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in project finance management.
  • Proven experience in budget management, supported by at least three credible professional referees.
  • Strong knowledge of office systems, procedures, and financial administration practices.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • High numerical proficiency with demonstrated capacity to manage and analyses budgets effectively.
  • Advanced computer literacy, including proficiency in computerized accounting systems and standard financial software.
  • Fluency in English and at least one local language
