The Role:

 

To supervise implementation of Oxfam Novid project titled as “Humanitarian System Transformation through Local Humanitarian Leadership” ensuring activities are aligned with the log frame objective, measurable indicators, and strategic interventions outlined to achieve gender-responsive localization. The coordinator is going to facilitate the co-creation of solutions with stakeholders by applying a participatory approach – engaging deeply with local, national actors, INGOs, and UNs to identify challenges, prototype solutions, and refine activities for sustained impact. The project’s activities would be divided between Oxfam and three local partners at the beginning; however number of partners and platform might be included during implementation stage, therefore the coordinator would work closely with gender justice, advocacy, and partnership departments within Oxfam as well as three local partners to make sure that the project’s activities are on track based on developed work plan at the beginning on the project. International partners will also work with Oxfam and its local partners for specific outcomes, where the project coordinator will be responsible for coordination among different actors under this project.

 

The coordinator would be responsible to coordinate with Oxfam team (gender, advocacy, and partnership) for technical support during implementation, follow-up with local partners based on their work plan, ensure close coordination during implementation between local partners; international partners; Oxfam teams; UNs/INGOs, and active local authorities representative where applicable, ensure close coordination with Building agile leadership and development initiative, monthly implementation follow-up with local and international partners based on overall work plan, prepare quarterly reports in close coordination with all actors working under this project, collect and document learnings throughout the project, work closely with finance team on monthly report and BvA and ensure financial report is in alignment with narrative one.  

 

Location: 70% Sanaa and 30% Aden

 

What we are looking for:

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

 

  • Experience with project management activities with log frame structures, including developing and tracking indicators, managing data sources, and reporting on impact and outcomes.
  • First degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (preferably economics, politics, sociology, humanities, business administration) or substantial experience.
  • Proficiency in applying participatory approach including stakeholder engagement, identification, prototyping, and iterative improvement, in complex humanitarian contexts.
  • Demonstrable experience in applying conflict-sensitive approaches in project design, implementation, and evaluation ensuring interventions mitigate potential conflict drivers and enhance social cohesion.
  • Ability to conduct conflict analysis to identify key risks, power dynamic, and stakeholders’ relationship, ensuring that project activities are responsive to the local context.
  • Experience in developing and delivering the project’s activities that incorporate conflict-sensitive practices, particularly in humanitarian settings.
  • Experience in civil society history and its context and preferably has working experience with Dutch project.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with wider range of local and international partner as well as active stakeholders such as UNs/INGOs, and local authorities where necessary
  • Excellent project management skills with track record of delivery.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong negotiating skills and ability to persuade, motivate and influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong team-player with ability to show leadership in complex and challenging environment.

 

Desirable

  • Understanding / experience of WROs and CSOs working environment in Yemen context.
  • Coaching or mentoring experience
  • Team and people management experience
