Do you hold a university degree in Engineering (Civil, Architecture, Mechanical, or Electrical) from a recognized and reputable institution?

 

Do you have 2–3 years of practical engineering experience in WASH projects, such as sanitation systems, water network rehabilitation, WASH in schools, or water pumping station projects?

 

Do you possess strong, proven technical project management skills, including expertise in risk management?

The Role:

 

Oxfam in Syria is looking for a PHE Assistant  To support Oxfam Syria programme in the implementation of the emergency & resilience WASH activities to alleviate suffering of vulnerable population affected by ongoing conflict in Syria. This includes supporting the development and guidance of PHE Assistants in assessment, implementation & planning, supervision of construction works, preparing BoQ and assisting the project manager in contract management within the Syria programme strategy

Experience, Knowledge & Competencies

Essential:
Technical Skills, Experience & Knowledge:
•Holds a university Engineering degree (in Civil or Architecture or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering) from a reputed university.
•Strong and tested technical project management skills, including risk management.
•The ability to present concise reports, reflecting the problems and possible solutions for situations.
•Sensitivity to cultural differences, and the ability to work in a wide variety of cultural contexts.
•Ability and willingness to travel extensively in a hard context environment.
•Commitment to Oxfam’s overall aims and policies including demonstrable commitment to gender equality and equal opportunities in all aspects of Oxfam’s work.
•Well-developed interpersonal and team skills and proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations.
•Good written and spoken Arabic and English is essential.
•alignment with the aims and objectives of Oxfam.
•practical Engineering experience of 2-3 years in WASH projects (Sanitary, Water Network Rehabilitation, WASH in school and water pumping stations Projects).
•Previous work experience not less than 2 years with LNGOs/INGOs in WASH field.
•Good demonstrable understanding of Auto-CAD, Google Earth, MS Office suite and water modelling software).
•Good planning skills to include flexibility and adaptability.
•A proven ability to supervisor technical teams in the field.
•Excellent follow up skills.

Desirable:
•Preferably Masters in a relevant engineering Civil or Architecture Mechanical or Electrical,
•demonstrate good experience in alternate energy.
•Experience in Coordination externally, internally, and working with partners.
