JOB PURPOSE

The MEAL Department of Oxfam in Jordan envisions Impactful programs at scale through fostering high program quality, evidence -based; with a high level of accountability to the people we work with; and with mutual accountability with our partners. 

 

The post of the MEAL assistance will be at forefront to foster Oxfam’s accountability to the people we work with providing prompt response to feedback, complaints, Information request and Transparency.   With a guidance from senior MEAL officer, and under supervision of MEAL Officer; the post holder will also support the program team in conducting MEAL activities, including data collection, data analysis, and contribute for monitoring projects.

The duty station of the post is Azraq Syrian Refugees Camp, while the post holder’s responsibility will cover Azraq, Zaatari and the host communities in Mafraq.  

 

. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accountability

  • Manage and operate the hotline for the Mafraq governorate and Azraq Camp, ensuring timely and professional responses to queries and concerns raised by beneficiaries.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all hotline communications and feedback.
  • Ensure that hotline feedback is systematically tracked, analyzed, and referred to the appropriate departments or teams for resolution.
  • Provide regular reports to the MEAL Officer and Senior MEAL Officer on hotline activity trends and identified issues.
  • Prepare monthly reports to be shared with the internal stakeholders and protect privacy and data of participants.

 

Field works Related Monitoring Surveys and Assessments

  • Assist the MEAL Officer and Senior MEAL Officer in conducting field monitoring activities, including site visits and surveys.
  • Coordinate with field teams to ensure timely data collection and adherence to project objectives and methodologies.
  • Participate in the development of tools for data collection and ensure the quality and reliability of the collected data.
  • Provide support in the coordination, and implementation of data collector training for surveys, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
  • Support the coordination and implementation of monthly cleanliness surveys in collaboration with the solid waste management project team.

         

Data Management

  • Organize, clean, and analyze collected data to produce clear and actionable insights for program improvement.
  • Support the maintenance of a centralized database to store and manage project-related data.
  • Prepare summaries, presentations, and visualizations of data findings to support decision-making processes.

 

Others

  • Ensure that all tasks adhere to organizational policies, donor requirements, and relevant standards for data protection and accountability.

 

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager

Required

 

  • Bachelor in statistics, social science, Information technology and other relevant filed

 

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in field work, data gathering and data management tools, accountability mechanisms

 

  • Basic understanding of PCM, Project Monitoring and Evaluation

 

  • Strong commitment to Gender Justice, Safeguarding and Do No Harm Practices

 

 

  • Familiarity with or working experience in refugees camp set is advantageous

 

 

  • Ability to work with diverse team , meeting deadlines and responsive to community needs

 

  • Aptitude to learn, acquire new skills and take more responsibilities

 

 

 

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working with Oxfam and/or NGOs, and Familiarity with minimum requirements, and Social Accountability Framework
