Gender Officer (National) (INT10855)

 

The Role:

 

Gender Officer shall provide support, engage with and contribute to the capacity of partners, colleagues and relevant stakeholders on gender programming and feminist approaches. The role will support gender priorities including the Women’s Rights Fund and gender projects. The role will ensure effective and efficient implementation of activities of Oxfam to ensure that gender is integrated.

 

 

Requirements:

 

Essential:

  • Proven knowledge and commitment to values, gender equality, and feminist principles.
  • Strong understanding of gender dynamics in humanitarian contexts, supported by tertiary education in social sciences, development, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with humanitarian standards, principles, and frameworks, including gender-focused guidelines.
  • Experience in the humanitarian, development, or non-profit sector.
  • High self-awareness and excellent soft skills, including facilitation, communication, influencing, and engagement.
  • Ability to clearly articulate gender-related concepts.
  • Experience in leading or coordinating capacity-building initiatives.
  • Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and networking skills, with the ability to work effectively in diverse, multicultural teams.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

 

  • Sensitivity to cultural differences, intersectional gender issues, and commitment to equal opportunities.
  • Openness to learning and applying feminist principles, gender mainstreaming, women’s rights, and diversity in all aspects of work.
  • Adherence to safeguarding policies to ensure the safety of all individuals in contact with the organization.
  • Accountability: Take responsibility for actions and uphold a results-driven, purpose-focused approach.
  • Empowerment: Enable all stakeholders to drive meaningful change.
  • Inclusiveness: Embrace diversity and value contributions from everyone, regardless of differences.
