Oxfam has been working in Nepal for over 40 years. We implement programmes through three interrelated thematic priorities - Climate and Water, Gender Justice, and Humanitarian and DRM to respond to the intersectional and multidimensional nature of inequalities and injustices that perpetuate poverty in the lives of women, marginalized, vulnerable people and communities.

The Role

The Admin and Logistic associate will be responsible for supporting in managing the administration in field office and logistics functions for flood response operations including assets management, equipment, store, warehouse, and to ensure effective, transparent and accountable logistics support for emergency flash flood response operations. The position is based in Nuwakot office, however, will be field movements in other two project areas as well to support operational aspects as per required.

To perform a varied range of tasks to deliver an efficient cost-effective and quality humanitarian response.

 

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who has the following experience, knowledge and competencies.

 

Education:

Essential bachelor's degree in business administration or on relevant field with three to five years' experience in I/NGO,

Experience & Skills:

  • Preferable experience in admin and logistics management in humanitarian response project
  • Proven experience of working in teams and good inter-personal skill and negotiation skills
  • Able to manage workload/pressure and ability to prioritise well and commitment to meet deadlines,
  • Proven knowledge of computerized systems and demonstrable experience of working with computerized accounting packages and spreadsheets;
  • Flexibility under pressure and in response to changing needs.
  • Experience in administration and logistic and procurement, warehousing, asset/ equipment, administration and fleet management.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload, can follow instructions under limited supervision
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences, and the ability to work in a wide variety
  • Sensitivity to gender and diversity issues in work practices.
  • Good written and communication skills. Fluency in English
  • Good in Excel and Microsoft office- Ms word, Power Point
  • Ability to keep clear and concise records
  • Willing and able to offer support to other departments.
  • Willing to travel to the field and stay in the affected area during humanitarian crisis.
