  • Have you led the development and implementation of policy advocacy strategies, including power mapping, stakeholder analysis, and advocacy action plans?
  • Do you have experience producing high quality policy briefs, position papers, and communication materials for advocacy and influencing work?
  • Have you managed or organized advocacy events, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities at local or national levels?
  • Do you have experience developing and executing communication plans, including creating IEC materials, success stories, and social media content to support advocacy goals?

The Role:

Oxfam GB seeks a dynamic and experienced Policy Advocacy and Communication (PAC) Coordinator to lead strategic influencing and communication efforts across its Iraq programme. This pivotal role focuses on driving policy change, amplifying community voices, and ensuring coherent advocacy and communication initiatives that align with Oxfam’s mission for economic, gender, and climate justice.

We’re looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam's mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to our feminist principles and values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion in all you do.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

  • A university degree in Communication, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Project Management, or a related field. A master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • At least 5 years of experience in public relations, communications, and advocacy experience working with NGOs /INGOs, out of which 3 years specifically in developing and producing policy-oriented content in Iraq.
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge on Iraq social, and political and economic context.
  • Good understanding of communication, development, humanitarian, gender and rights-based approaches.
  • Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills, and confidence in working with people from a diverse range of countries and cultures.
  • Fluency in Arabic, and English. Kurdish is an advantage.
  • Self-motivated and able to independently solve problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with various teams in country and internationally. 
  • Track record in similar positions and leading the design and implementation of activities relevant to the job description, including developing advocacy, writing policy briefs and reports, developing campaign strategies, influencing work and designing IEC material.
