About the Festival Engagement Team

The Festival Engagement Team brings Oxfam’s mission to life at the UK’s biggest festivals, inspiring thousands through bold campaigning and unforgettable supporter experiences.

We aim to deliver a high-quality, community-focused and sustainable festival engagement programme that inspires action, drives income, strengthens supporter connection to Oxfam’s mission, and supports the delivery of UK festivals.

The Role:

Are you an experienced operational leader who thrives in fast-paced environments?

Do you enjoy building strong systems, supporting teams to deliver at scale, and creating safe, effective and engaging event operations?

As Festivals Operations Manager, you will play a key role in leading the operational delivery and development of Oxfam’s festivals programme. You will oversee operational planning, logistics, risk management and safeguarding across a diverse portfolio of festivals and events, helping to ensure a safe and high-quality experience for volunteers, supporters and partners.

This role combines operational leadership with strategic oversight and is ideal for someone who can balance long-term planning with hands-on delivery.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead operational planning and delivery across Oxfam’s festivals and events programme.
  • Develop and oversee operational systems, logistics processes and resource planning to support effective delivery.
  • Manage operational risk, including health and safety, safeguarding and event management systems compliance.
  • Support and coordinate festival delivery teams, ensuring effective communication, consistency and collaboration across functions.
  • Work closely with internal teams to improve supporter journeys and volunteer experiences through streamlined operational processes.
  • Contribute to financial planning, budget management and operational reporting across the programme.
  • Support recruitment, training and development across operational delivery functions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve ways of working, strengthen resilience and enhance operational effectiveness across the team.

What We're Looking For:

We’re looking for someone with strong operational and organisational skills and experience who is comfortable managing multiple priorities in dynamic environments.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience delivering operational planning and logistics for large-scale events, festivals or similar programmes.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience managing operational risk, health and safety and safeguarding processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience supporting or managing teams within fast-paced delivery environments.
  • The ability to develop collaborative processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence working both strategically and operationally.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

We offer:

  • The opportunity to work with a passionate and dedicated team in an exciting industry.
  • A chance to make a meaningful impact through your work.
  • Flexible working arrangements.

How to apply:

If you're excited about this opportunity and believe you have the skills and experience we're looking for, we'd love to hear from you. Please submit your CV and a cover letter outlining your suitability for the role.

About us

Oxfam is a global community who believe poverty isn’t inevitable. It’s an injustice that can be overcome. We are shop volunteers, women’s right activists, marathon runners, aid workers, coffee farmers, street fundraisers, goat herders, policy experts, campaigners, water engineers and more. And we won’t stop until everyone can live life without poverty for good.

Oxfam GB is a member of international confederation of 21 organisations working together with partners and local communities in the areas of humanitarian, development and campaigning, in more than 90 countries.

A thriving diverse Oxfam:

It’s people power that brings about change. To play our part as a global organisation working to overcome poverty and inequality, we need equality, diversity and inclusion across our community of staff, partners and volunteers. Together, we’re committed to becoming a more diverse workforce, better able to tackle the global challenges that face our world today.

To do that:

  • We need to dismantle the unequal power structures that exist everywhere, this including Oxfam and the wider development and charity sectors.
  • We need an inclusive Oxfam where everyone can bring who they are to our work and feels celebrated for the differences they bring.
  • We want and need everyone, and that means we need you.
