The Role:

 

As Director of Racial Justice and Equalities, you will play a pivotal role in Oxfam GB’s (OGB) transformation into a more equitable, anti-racist, and inclusive organization. In this leadership position you will champion and embed racial justice, decolonization, feminist and equalities principles across OGB’s global programmes, UK advocacy, and internal culture. Working collaboratively across all teams, including with partners and stakeholders, you will lead on strategy development, systems change, and advocacy. 


You will also works closely with the CEO and Leadership Team to ensure OGB’s goals, operations, and culture align with its commitments to racial and social justice.

We’re looking for a candidate who cares about Oxfam's mission to end poverty and is personally aligned to our feminist principles and values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion in all you do.

 

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

 

  • Deep commitment to Oxfam’s values, including being anti-racist, safe, and intersectionally feminist—with demonstrated experience embedding these into organizational strategy.
  • Substantial experience leading racial justice, decolonisation, or anti-oppression initiatives, preferably in the international development or humanitarian sector.
  • Expertise in systems thinking, power analysis, and the historical and ongoing impacts of colonialism and racism.
  • Proven success in leading organizational-wide cultural and structural change that embeds equality and racial justice frameworks
  • Ability to link feminist, anti-racist, and decolonial frameworks into practical action and measurable change.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in partnership with diverse communities and organizations globally.
  • Skilled in working across complex and multicultural environments.
