The Role:

 

Roles and Responsibility.

  • The role sets the design and standards of logistic department
  • The role impacts directly on Oxfam GB effectiveness by building the capacity of support function and logistics staff across the programme
  • The role is highly variable and requires adoptions, developing solutions to diverse and complex problems within the country and team structure
  • The role impacts indirectly on programme quality and functionality
  • The role is expected to manage significant internal relationships, which has significant influence on the way logistic department and Oxfam GB are perceived both internally and externally
  • The role is expected to maximise sharing of lessons learnt between different field sides and as well to other countries.
  • Manages a number of teams, assets, fleet, generators, warehousing, transport budgets, projects or processes.
  • Some latitude for setting own objectives within departmental guidelines.
  • Problems are diverse but solutions can be identified from a wide range of previous experience with judgement being required to find and apply the most appropriate solution.
  • Impact of this level always affects the department, usually the division and sometimes the organisation.
  • Requirements to influence managers and to negotiate high level contracts and manage external relations Assessing the capacity needs of Oxfam GB logistics and assessing the quality of the services provided by logistic team
  • Identifying training and development needs through job analyses, based on both the organisation's and the individual's needs
  • Designing and developing training and development programmes based on both the organisation's and the individual's needs, delivers varied and innovative education and training materials for SDX logistic team members and publishes materials which educate and inspire different departments to promote good governance
  • Provide support to other programmes on logistic procedures and policies
  • Develop and manage implementing, monitoring and evaluation of the capacity building programme for logistic development, influence/impact of training materials and courses, and use data to update materials and approaches
  • Manage trainings, workshops, and other events and works within an agreed work plan, meeting project requirements and priorities
  •  
  • Contribute to the development of annual training plans and any strategic development exercises as requested,
  • Developing effective logistic induction programme,
  • Reviews and designs curriculum for logistic officers and logistic assistants
  • Oversees and supports the logistic officers to ensure high quality of service and timely submissions of reports
  • Ensure capacity building programmes are aligned with Oxfam GB programs and supply plans are developed and quarterly reviewed
  • Ensure that quarterly stock counting is followed across SDX bases
  • Ensure that year end process planned and executed, and discrepancies are reported and reconciled
  • Monthly logistics report submitted timely
  •  Ensure that the capacity building Programme is implemented in a gender sensitive and participative way

Provide coverage for Logs Coordinator and support to other teams when necessary and carry out any other responsibilities as requested by line manager.

 

 

What we are looking for: Oxfam South Sudan is looking for qualified South Sudanese National  to fill up  the role of Country Logistics Coordinator to be based in Juba office.

 

Essential

  • At least a professional degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or equivalent, with relevant counselling, development and/or education and training experience,
  • Practical experience in staff development and career planning,
  • Varied experience in developing learning materials and delivering training courses and other capacity building initiatives,
  • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people,
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated commitment to participatory approaches,
  • Excellent written and spoken English,
  • Ability to promote and market projects, producing a range of publicity materials,
  • Independent and takes initiative,
  • Negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of radio & other communications
